Desmond was born and brought up in Adelaide and has worked in a range of small to medium non-government organisations for a number of years, recently taking up the position of managing SHine SA's Northern Primary Health Care Team.
SHine SA has been a long standing member organisation of HCA. He has also worked at Children Youth and Women’s Health Service and in this role worked closely with the Consumer, Community Advisory Committee.
This group was the key consumer group in the organisation. In this role he worked closely with a range of organisations in the northern suburbs of Adelaide, in particular with local youth services as one of SHine's key communities of interest.
SHine works closely with young people through our Youth Action Teams, made up of young people from the local community who provide a consumer voice for our work.
Outside of work he enjoys cooking and has a keen interest in gardening, in particular permaculture.
