Marg Brown AM, Deputy Chairperson

Marg Brown has had a strong interest in Health Consumers Alliance of SA since funding was made available to commence establishing the Alliance. People in SA needed to have a consumer based organisation which could represent them.

Marg's background is entirely as a community representative and not in an employed position. Marg brings to the Board experience as the national chair of Health Consumers of Rural & Remote Australia, and past chair of the Peake Consumer Advisory Group for Child, Youth and Women’s Health Service (CYWHS).

Other representative positions include SA Dental Service, Consumers Health Forum of Australia, Medicare Australia, Country Health SA; as well as a Director of the NT General Practice Education & Training Board and Lead Community Contact for Flinders University Rural Clinical School.

Marg also brings to HCA a passion for community people having a stronger voice, particularly in rural and remote areas, although many issues also affect their city counterparts as well. Marg's many established networks and contacts can assist HCA in reaching out and connecting the loops.
