With over 35 years experience of working at all levels in the Health and Aged Care sector, I‘ve had significant experience in managing small and large not for profit organisations and have a sound understanding of financial and governance issues and their effects.
I have worked in consumer participation as a member of consumer organisations and have also been involved in consumer participation and engagement projects in the health arena.
Currently, General Manager of COTA Seniors Voice I am responsible to the Chief Executive for day-to-day operations of the organisation in conjunction with the senior management team as well as more than 65 staff and 120 volunteers in COTA and our membership, advocacy and insurance operations.
I’ve had broad experience over a number of years in consumer participation and engagement as outlined below;
Associate Fellow of the Australian College of Health Service Management (AFCHSM) and a Certified Health Executive (CHE).
Former President, and current Councillor, of the State Branch Council of the Australian College of Health Service Management.
Committee member of the SA Branch of the Australian Private Hospital’s Association.
Former President and Board Member of the Autism Association of South Australia Inc.
Former Co-ordinating Committee member of Health Reform SA.
Former member of the SA Dept of Health’s Safety and Quality in Healthcare, Clinical Governance Committee (Representing the members of the SA Branch of the Australian Private Hospital’s Association).
May 2006 – participated in an Australian delegation to British Columbia and Alberta, Canada to discuss ageing, delivery of aged care services, workforce, and bi-lateral relationships.
