The 2011-12 State Budget, delivered by Treasurer Jack Snelling today, provides some welcome news for health consumers with the health budget set to reach a record $4.7 billion. The Budget includes $133 million over four years in additional resources for providing health services and $498 million for capital projects in 2011-12. HCA wishes to acknowledge the achievements of Ashleigh Moore, from Cancers Voices, and Rosemary Warmington, of Carers SA. Both received honours in the recently announced Australia Day Awards. Rosemary was honoured has been appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for her support for carers. Ashleigh has been awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for his service to cancer support and community health.
