HCA wishes to acknowledge the achievements of Ashleigh Moore, from Cancers Voices, and Rosemary Warmington, of Carers SA. Both received honours in the recently announced Australia Day Awards. Rosemary was honoured has been appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for her support for carers. Ashleigh has been awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for his service to cancer support and community health.

The Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA) has called on all Australian governments to “get serious” about adopting best practice in delivering public services. A policy discussion paper developed by IPAA found there were few national, State or Local Government agencies with publicly disclosed service strategies that matched best practice internationally. SA Health has launched a campaign to tackle the stigma surrounding mental illness through its ‘Let’s Think Positive’ campaign.
