HCA advocates for health consumers and the community through the provision of policy advice and submissions. Health consumer and community engagement informs all of HCA’s work – we seek out the lived experience of health consumers and carers to inform our policy and advocacy positions.
HCA is the peak body representing all health consumers in South Australia. We offer information and general advice to consumers, strategic policy advice to health planners and decision makers, and independent systemic health consumer advocacy.
We are not able to provide advocacy services for individual consumers.
HCA’s Strategic Direction 2 is to lead systemic advocacy and policy to shape consumer-centred care. One of our strategies is to provide submissions and/or reports in response to a range of consultation papers. You can read our most recent submissions in 2018 below.
