Advance Care Directives: 5 Year Review

 Registration is closed for this event
From July 1 2014, the Advance Care Directives Act 2013 (the Act) and the ACD Form replaced the Enduring Power of Guardianship, Medical Power of Attorney and Anticipatory Directions. These forms of advance care directive are no longer available as the Advance Care Directive now encompasses them in a single form. Now, five years on, the Act is being reviewed and feedback is being sought from consumers.

The Minister for Health has initiated a review of the Advanced Care Directive Act 2013 (SA) as part of a required five (5) years review.

This independent review is being undertaken by University of South Australia who is consulting with key stakeholders and the public to identify recommendations and findings about the effectiveness and operation of the Act as well as key areas of concern in the area of advance care planning to inform the Minister.

To support this review, Health Consumers Alliance of South Australia (HCASA) is inviting consumers, their family members, carers or friends who have lived experience of implementing an Advanced Care Directive, either for themselves or for another person. Consumers can be involved in two ways;

1. Attend the consumer workshop on 17 May 2019

2. Complete the survey here

Consumers are encouraged to complete the survey and attend the workshop as the workshops will go into more depth about your experiences using Advance Care Directives.
