Training for lived experience advocates or representatives – consumers and careers who are actively engaged in the health/mental health system. Some pre-reading will be required. Format will include presentation, discussion and self-reflection activities. Participants will receive a manual that includes a variety of resources and links to many more. Certificates of attendance are provided. Participants of this course will learn strategies to improve their effectiveness and develop confidence to take on leadership roles or opportunities to participate at a more strategic or governance level. Consumers completing this course will be eligible for endorsement for national consumer roles.
