Transforming Health is the South Australian Government's reform program for the public health system. In the first phase Transforming Health is focussed on the major metropolitan hospitals in Adelaide. The vision of Transforming Health is the 'pursuit of quality, striving to deliver the best care, first time, everytime, to all South Australians'.
The Government has released a discussion paper with six quality principles and 282 clinical standards; held a summit with over 600 people in attendance; released a proposals paper; and released the delivering transforming health papers and appendices which includes the data that informs the need for change.
HCA is seeking to facilitate genuine consumer and community engagement across the Transforming Health process. We look forward to continuing to engage with workshop participants, our members and the broader SA community in establishing the Peak Consumer and Community Engagement Forum in Transforming Health. We will continue our discussion with the Minister and SA Health on ways to move forward, given the urgency of the need to position consumers at the heart of health care.
